Return of the Cougars:
Fire it up was awesome.
I never really
expected it to be as good as it was. In fact, it turned out
even better than I had imagined it could. People liked it
even more than the first movie.
"Fire it up" was based
on the my senior track season at San Marcos, in 2004.
The things that really
set "Fire it up" apart from the first movie was the acting I
experimented with. I had my friend Kris Houghton emotionally
and boldly run and change into his track uniform as if it were a
superman outfit, for the introduction sequence. And the
dance video in the middle of the movie was just bad ass. Not to
mention if you watch the last two sequences, I guarantee you will
feel your hairs rise and then you will cry with emotional
happiness (mostly because of the music). Again, music plays
a pivotal role in determining the success of music stories.
Also I began using
special effects for the first time. It really helped to make
things more dramatic and gave the movie more of a cinematic feel.
Because everyone liked
the first movie, more people wanted to be a part of the second
one. So I had lots of people willing to help me out and do
what I wanted them to, which just made things better overall.
Being a director is very cool.
And when you are
watching either video, please remember to turn your volume up.
So this leads me to
the next logical step... |
