I’ve created a website dedicated to Debbie Dale, the assistant athletics administrator over at Cal State San Marcos. She was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and has a short time to live. I’ve decided to put together a short video for her to help uplift her spirits at her retirement party on September 12th. I’d like any and all friends she had to participate so I’m trying to spread the word as I’ve only got a few weeks to get this done!

Work on developing web software for the media and online news paper industry in a linux, apache, mysql environment. If you understand or have used perforce (code versioning) that will be a plus but is not necessary.

Salary ranges from 80-100K depending on what you can bring to the table. Little bureaucracy and a lax working environment (shorts, flipflops) make the organization an attractive place to build your career. Located in Carlsbad, CA near the ocean.

Today I created a new youtube account, “mlsstudios”, fitting isn’t it? I joined youtube back in mid 2006 for the first time and uploaded a portion of my videos, but used a non-descriptin user name. Shame on me. Time to make it right. Keep watching… err youtubing!

Hello everyone, today I put up my new Effects Book site, dealing with visual/special effects ideas and tutorials. My goal is to help people create appealing special FX visuals by using inexpensive materials and tools. More to come on this domain later, as it’s pretty new to the web.

I’ve updated my laser gun tutorial that I started about a year ago. Finally got some time today to wrap that up. This tutorial assumes you have gone through my light saber tutorial because the steps and concepts involved are built on the methods from creating star wars styles sabers. Let me know if you need more details.

I’ve updated my resume to reflect some of the web sites that I’ve been working with in the past. Not a big deal for most people but I figured I should do this for linking purposes. By the way here is a new video from my latest batch of movies:

This clip is a fire effects “test” that I put together about a year ago, but am now showing it becuase, hey, it’s been sitting around long enough The explosion is made up of several different layers using the “particular” plugin for after effects - same goes for the fireball. I think I will put up a new tutorial some time this week.
